When clients complete an initial set of coaching goals, there is often an opportunity to go more deeply into leadership development through the use of 360 feedback. Many organizations offer simple to complex 360 degree feedback systems. Two that I’ve used with good success are:
- Checkpoint 360, by Profiles International – Contact me to review a full copy of Checkpoint 360 Sample Report and as well as an overview presentation of Checkpoint 360.
- LeaderNation 360 – Web resources are here
Checkpoint 360, as you can see in the snapshot, is highly visual which aids interpretation. It is based on nationally normed leadership competencies. It is easy to administer and provides rich, visually-cued data illustrating details about suggested development areas.
LeaderNation 360, has customizable competencies that can be easily aligned with your organization’s leadership competencies. LeaderNation 360 can also be customized with leader development tools like the Neethling Brain Instrument, the NBI, a highly valid, easy to understand and inexpensive tool that helps provide a competency focus for leaders.

The NBI is also team oriented and fun. It can be used with your direct reports.
The Hogan LEAD Series described on my coaching page here also provides in-depth insights and specific suggestions for development of leaders based on personality (the Potential report), derailers under stress or times of no direction (the Challenge report), as well as core values and motivators (the Values report) geared for leaders, including a video overview here.
